Bethnal Green is an area in the East end of London. The area is known for its history in the silk weaving trade in the 1800s. At the start of the 20th. CenturyBethnal Green was one of the poorest slums in LondonThe infamous Jack the Ripper walked and terrorized the streets of the western end of the area and in neighbouring WhitechapelIt has always been a working-class area and famed for its notorious link with the east end underworld, being stomping ground to the Kray Brothers and hard man Lenny Mclean in the 60s and 70s. Today Bethnal Green continues to be a haven for immigrants, creatives and misfits.
